Dizzy Heights: Climbing in Dorset and beyond

My best climbing experiences away from Swanage

  • Ardverikie Wall: northern wilderness
  • Mutiny Crack: Burbage N.
  • Suicide Wall: Cratcliffe
  • Travesties: Stanage
  • A Dream of Wild Turkeys: Red Rocks
  • Orion Direct: The Ben
  • Triple Direct: Yosemite
  • Comici Route: Cima Grande
  • La Bella: Costa Blanca
  • West Buttress Eliminate: Cloggy
  • Lagarde-Segogne couloir: Chamonix

I originally set up Dizzy Heights to provide rock-climbing instruction and performance coaching. At the time, I was also teaching at Itchen College in Southampton; this work has become close to full-time and therefore I no longer do any independent climbing work.

However, I started to put together information about my climbing, particularly focusing on the brilliant adventure climbing at Swanage in Dorset. Coming from up north, I had never heard anyone big-up the Swanage experience and had assumed it was maybe comparable to the dodgy bits of the Culm Coast. I'm a total convert and think Swanage is one of the better adventure destinations in the UK so this website has become my contribution to the eulogisation of the Jurassic Coast.

Plus some bits and bobs about other climbing I have done or want to get involved with.

Rock on!
